Top 5 Books

1. The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho)
Very good message - philosophical look at life and what's important. Only takes a few hours to read.

2. An Equal Music (Vikram Seth)
About a string quartet in London & the relationship between them. Accompanying CD that you can listen to while the music's being described in the book

3. La Prisonierre (Malika Oufkir)
Fascinating book on King Hussein 2nd's rule in Morocco and the influence he had over the country and one family in particular.

4. Salem Falls (Jodi Picoult) As with all her books it looks at a controversial contemporary issue (this one is rape) - but more importantly views the power of the American legal system, how lies spiral out of control with a surprise twist at the end!

5. The Reader (Bernard Schlink)
Post war Germany and the effect on different generations.
